U.S. elections ahead: Bracing for changes

As part of the "U.S. Regulatory Update" series, Dechert LLP and EFAMA are hosting a webinar on 9 April 2024 (15.30-17:00 CET) to cover recent U.S. regulatory developments.

With the U.S. elections taking place on the 5th of November 2024, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is under increasing pressure to deliver on dozens of proposals it has issued over the last couple of years. The Commission recently adopted the controversial Climate Disclosure Rules and is expected to make progress on similar rules for investment funds and asset managers, the proposed rules on liquidity management in open-ended funds, outsourcing by investment advisors, and safeguarding (custody) of client assets. The latter proposal could have wide-ranging consequences for the European industry as it could restrict the ability of European funds to delegate portfolio management to the United States.

Programme
  • Introductory remarks by EFAMA
  • SEC Climate Disclosure Rules (incl. the name rule)
  • The broader SEC regulatory agenda
  • Recently adopted asset management rules and their impact on Europe
  • Pending rules (incl. the safeguarding proposal and ESG rules for investment funds and asset managers)
